Obsidian Conflict 1.35 progress

Well I was pretty busy in the last days with school AND with the new Code that comes with 1.35 which will make some people out there quite happy.

There are some things that i want to show of, first of the newly added Donator Feature which means that everyone who Donates to OC will get a special feature.

For now the only feature that Donators will get is Name Coloring and that in Chat, Scoreboard, TargetID and Deathnotice. The Color is based on the Flashlight Color and is only visible when you also check the Custom Color Checkbox. Here some screens about it:

Well and another thing that i wanted to talk about is the newly Addon System…

As I quick added it from my 1.4 code doesn’t it feature everything that i planned on 1.4 with it as I’m a bit limited in the current code.

By Default are there the following addons: ep2, episodic, lostcoast, css, dod which only get loaded when the correspondenting mount is also loaded

also noted should be that the system only reconizes the folder under extras as addon if the folder contains a info.txt while it doesn’t matter if it conains anything, it just have to exist, the general addon infos are then in the info.txt and even if it’s empty it will at least know the name by it’s folder name and the path of course. I hope that some people will like it, for me was it important to get rid of that useless “throw anything into the oc folder and die”

As everything does the Addon system also have it’s downside (which i tried to get rid of in 1.4 but didn’t had the time yet): The more addons you load, the longer the loading time as the addons are basically nothing more then extra search paths which the engine goes trough each time something needs to be loaded like a model or a sound (one thing why GMod get’s slower with each addon too)

you just have to bear with it for the moment as i won’t spend too much time in coding 1.35 as i want to get back to 1.4 as soon as possible

Well that should be everything for now, keep watching my blog in the near future as the 1.35 release is near and i might show some other exclusive things and of course present the release with a blog post.

Also, everything i say here about 1.35 might change on some parts as it’s not release yet 😛

PS: I’ve created an TeamSpeak 3 Server for Obsidian some days ago (IP is: ts.obsidianconflict.net:9988), i’m pretty much always online there but that doesn’t mean that i’m actually there nor that i’m in the mood to talk english as i lack that a bit as good as my writing is, sadly but i try it at least 😛

It’s been a while already…

Well, what could i say? I’m really busy with school right know so i didn’t managed it to do any coding for Obsidian Conflict, which is a shame, specially because i started to work on Version 1.4 which is basically a start from Scratch.

I tought that it would be the best since so much has changed due the last SDK Code Update, it also is a chance for me to integrate each oc code piece so that i can check it for possible bugs on the way.

Well i will see if i get the time in my summer holidays which will be in around ~6 Weeks.

I also made an TF2 Server on our new Server ( games1.yas-online.net:27200 ) which i was working on the last days, it’s still under development since i need to write alot of stuff via SourceMod, but it runs pretty smooth already, it’s just that there aren’t always many people on there (but when there are is the server mostly full)

I also found yesterday a new Game called “Osu!”, it’s basically like Audiosurf but with many more features and options in my opinion. One good thing about it is that you don’t have to have the music file on your computer, you just need to download the beatmap from their site and you are good to go.

As you can see do i use the Lucky Star Skin that is downloadable via Updater under Extras.

Also, Assassins Creed 2 will come out at November, it looks very good so far and i’m very much looking forward to play Alatair again even tough they seem to have a PS3 Only version in doing. I just hope they will release the PC Version soon after it.

Obsidian Conflict 1.34

There we go, we got it finally out some hours ago (was in hurry to get to school so i wasn’t able to write here, i also didn’t had any sleep tonight :/)

This patch really is it worth downloading since it got more things into it as orginally planned…

like: It has now Custom Colors for Grenades RPGs SLAMs and Sniper.

basically do i don’t have any much to say about it but that there will be of cource more updates, but until then enjoy OC 1.34 😀

No Idea…

Well, school is keeping me busy and getting the Driving licence is also something i need to complete on these days so i kind of have no hand for anything but sleeping…

I also don’t have much to say but that Obsidian Conflict 1.34 will be released very soon, and with some luck OC will also be one of the next Mods that get Steam Support (we don’t know for sure, the only thing i can say for sure is that we are on Valves List which is a step in the right direction)

Still OC has many bugs that need to take care of and some things also need a bit of a re-design but that is just something we can’t do unless we know that Obsidian can stay where it were before Mods got Steam Support

I also have been doing some work on my Lua Lib wich will get added to Obsidian someday i guess, but since i don’t have that much time i barly got an interface to work with, i also have some things left like: _G = nil protection and so on…

I guess it’s the best to ask if anyone has questions or something you want me to show here (maybe a review section or something like that i don’t know give me some advices :P)

WTF just happend here!?

To say it short: i just visited my blog today and tought: “Oh my gawd this blog is so old and outdated, and since i don’t post here anyways i’ll start from scratch”

So i installed a fresh new WordPress with a new Theme which i like more as the last one…

many things happend since i last posted here and i will count now some of those (could get bigger as i want):

  • I decited to put Ecchi-RO (Virgin-RO) into the background since i have some other more important things to take care of…
  • YaM is on an tempoary halt (more about why see below)
  • I have been added as an “Support Coder” for Obsidian Conflict, and therefore will post here some things about the daily life about being an Developer for a HL2 Mod which is quite popular 😛
  • I started to develop my own Game Engine which only process is currently an Window, but this will change hopefully (i started it because there are some things where i need Skidz or Hyperjag3 and since they aren’t online for a while i decited to waste my time with something else until they get back)

hmm… i think that’s all for now, i will update this when something pops up in my mind about that…

Edit: i will go over to post weekly or when i’m really busy monthly, so don’t wonder when there isn’t anything new yet…
